About this Item

This curious edition has two title pages both of which begin as shown above and which continue: (first) "Containing the Results of Machinery, Cottage Evenings and The Rights of Industry. Addressed to Working-Men."; (second) "The Results of Machinery, Namely, Cheap Production and Increased Employment, Exhibited: Being an Address to the Working-Men of the United Kingdom. American Edition." Original stamped brown cloth covers with gilt lettering on the spine still in remarkable condition; except for a chip missing from the top of the spine the volume would be classified as very good. Each of the three major sections noted on the title page are paginated separately; respectively 216, 215, and 213. In one sense, this is three volumes bound as one. No date of publication is given but on both the front and rear fly-leaves is a pencil inscription "Bought July 7, 1871 Washington, D.C.". Bookseller Inventory # 001574
