Rebound in full buckram over boards, original lettering and geometric pattern in paper label on spine; pp.  (introductions by Wheat and Garrard, dedication), 289, with woodcut color illustrations by Mallette Dean and a folding map. Number Three of the Third Series of Rare Americana, printed in an edition of 550 copies. Title-page and front flyleaf neatly tipped in, else fine, with publisher's prospectus and a letter to a bookseller laid in from 1951. The letter explains that the book is being returned on account of two signatures being misbound. Obviously this led to the rebinding, as the contents are now all in proper order.
