"Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life." Proverbs, 4: 23 NIV. How has this central truth been lost .that the heart is the center of human life? It is the creative powerhouse within you. It is the connecting point between you and others between you and God. In fact, the heart is where we receive that life God offers and we long for a life flowing through us, as Jesus said, in rivers. And it is through your heart that God wants to change the world. In "Waking the Dead," John Eldredge shows us how God restores our hearts, our true humanity, and sets us free. There are four streams, Eldredge says, through which we can discover the abundant life: Walking with God; Receiving His Intimate Counsel, Deep Restoration, and Spiritual Warfare. And once the "eyes of our hearts" are opened, we will embrace three eternal truths: Things are not what they seem; This is a world at war; and Each of us has a crucial role to play. A battle is raging. And it is a battle for your heart. Religion. ". Bookseller Inventory # ef7ae838e9fee4bf8127decc81618b1c

About this title

Synopsis:

There is a glory to life that most people-including believers-never see. In this insightful new book, John Eldredge presents the heart as central to life. Not only is the heart essential; the heart God has ransomed is also good. Building on these foundational truths, Eldredge shows readers why real Christianity is a process of restoration, where the broken parts of our hearts are mended and the captive parts are set free.

Waking the Dead leads listeners to understand how to live from the heart, care for their heart like the treasures of the kingdom, and give from fullness instead of emptiness. This message also shows how living from the heart can energize people to love God and others in a way they've never experienced, revealing to them life's purpose: fighting for the hearts of others.
