It is a history of wars and accords, of enmity and amity, of failures and successes. Many situations you would like to know are discussed as they happened, phase by phase. His main thrust of writings is on changing the dismal scenario, people-to-people contact or something similar. Mr Nayar has met all the leaders in the subcontinent, starting with Jawaharlal Nehru and Mohamad Ali Jinnah to Atal Behari Vajpayee and General Pervez Musharraf. He tells about the meetings at Tashkent between Lal Bahadur Shastri and General Mohammad Ayub Khan, at Shimla between Mrs Indira Gandhi and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, at Islamabad between Benzir Bhutto and Rajiv Gandhi, at Lahore between Nawaz Sharif and Atal Behari Vajpayee and at Agra between Atal Behari Vajpayee and General Pervez Musharraf. Mr Nayar suggest a solution to the Kashmir problem, which even Sheikh Abdullah liked. The author also reveals that adventures of Pakistani forces at Kargil and gives details of militants and their operations.
