First edition. Slim 8vo in brown cloth with spine lettered in gilt. 107 pp. Inscribed by Kennedy on the first blank with a short poem and date of Christmas, 1922. There is a small photo of the poet tipped onto the front blank as well. Collection of short verse pieces some of which had previously appeared in Scribner's Magazine, American Magazine, Ainslee's Magazine and the American Poetry Magazine. A tight, fine example; on the final page of text and the three following pages are four holograph poems by other authors, the handwriting not being bthat of Kennedy. Issued without dust jacket. Charles W. Kennedy was a poet, poetry critic and a Princeton University Professor of English Literature specializing in early English and mythic poetry; his works include a study of early English poetry and Beowulf.
