A nice, tight, clean, sharp book. Corners worn and the atlas has a torn top spine. Two volumes, one of text and one of illustrations (atlas). Rebound circa 1890 with leather spines and corners. Raised ribs and gold lettering, marbled end papers. An ex library with nearly no markings. Has previous owner's initials ( AJS) on spine. Mr Seligman lived in Helena MT to look over the family mining interests. He assisted the town during the silver bust of '93. Dewatering machines (ie pumps). Everyword in German. 65 double page (open spread). illustrrations in classic German DETAIL! 797 pages of text including the index. Rather bulky.
