Fr. Gerold Verlag, Germany. Unit history of the 230th Field Artillery Battalion. They served from February 1942 through the end of the war. The battalion was attached to the 30th Infantry Division and emplyed 105 MM Howitzers. The 230th landed at Omaha Beach on 10 June 1944 and fought through the hedgerows, the St Lo breakout, Aachen, the Rhine and finished the war on the banks of the Elbe. Throughout the war they fired 170,873 rounds. No date of publication given, however, it was printed in Germany and the unit returned to the US at the end of the summer 1945. Includes fold out map in the back. Good copy of the first edition. leather covered binding bright image of the unit flag and artillery, trucks and jeeps. Rear binding is weak. 138 pages.
