About this Item

Author of a good many books for both adults and children, this one from Ms Stoddard Warburg is a substantial allegorical fairy tale with a decidedly spiritual overtone. Probably the best known book by her is the universally admired little volume, "I Like You" from the 60's. The half-title here is boldly inscribed by the author: "To - - I'm sure I wrote this for you! On the way home to Hospice - with love, Sandol, 27 June 78". An interesting inscription since 1978 was the year that, as Sandol Stoddard, the author published her important non-fiction work, "The Hospice Movement". Considering the vast number of her books that are at large, very few signed copies seem to come up. There is very minor browning to edges here, but otherwise this is a fine copy in a very good dust jacket, with slight edgewear and browning to spine and folds. Bookseller Inventory # 000564

Personally, I don't like my books to look and feel like a library book, so I don't use those adjustable jacket protectors like Brodart, Gaylord, etc. Where appropriate, books are supplied with their jackets protected by a thin, clear, archival quality acetate film which is loosely fitted with no tape or adhesive but which provides protection without de...
