Entire issue of 56 pages. Tall 8vo/24.5cm. Printed card stock wrappers, light soil, some underlining and marginalia in Islamabad construction article (pp 27-32), otherwise internally clean, tight and very good. Dr. Arthur Iliff, O.B.E., S.I., was a medical missionary who had spent many years in Waziristan and the North-West Frontier Province both before and after Partition and in his introduction, the Chairman of the meeting, Sir Olaf Caroe (1892-1981) , last British Governor of the North-West Frontier Province and certainly one of the leading experts on the Pathan tribes, said of Iliff that he "probably knows more about Waziristan than any of us.", this with Sir Evelyn Howell, former Political Agent of Waziristan and author of the authoritative and famous publication, 'Mizh: A Monograph on the Mahsuds', in the audience. Dr. Iliff tells of some of his experiences in the rugged mountains of Waziristan where famous brigands and troublemakers such as the Faqir of Ipi and probably currently, Osama bin-Laden, have held-out. He also showed the short movie, "Frontier Interlude.", demonstrating the corrosive role of the blood feud. Other interesting articles in this issue of the Bulletin are: "The Master of the Rolls in Pakistan" by the Rt. Hon. Lord Denning, PC; "Islamabad--New Capital City." by Derek Lovejoy; and, "Khushal Khan: Warrior Poet." by Sir Olaf Caroe. Copies of this publication seem to be quite scarce. Bookseller Inventory #
