About the Author:

Clive Barker Clive Barker was born in Liverpool in 1952. He took the publishing world by storm with his six-volume collection of short stories, published in England as the Books of Blood; the last three volumes were published in the united States as The Inhuman Condition, In the Flesh, and Cabal, which also includes the title novella. "Cabal" was adapted as the film Nightbreed, and the novella "The Hellbound Heart" inspired the series of Hellraiser films. Mr. Barker's short story "The Forbidden" was adapted for the screen as Candyman, and the children's fable "The Thief of Always" is being made into an animated feature. His novels include the highly acclaimed Weaveworld, The Great and Secret Show, Imajica, and Everville. In addition to his award-winning work as a short story writer and novelist, Mr. Barker writes, produces, and directs for the stage and screen. His illustrations can be seen in the books Clive Barker Illustrator and The Art of Clive Barker. Mr. Barker lives in Los Angeles.
