Dark blue linen-grain cloth over boards, red titles and playing card design. Cartoon end papers. Cloth over board box with drawer affixed to rear cover. Clean, square covers and spine. Light rubbing wear at spine ends. Light rubbing to corners. Tightly bound. Bright, clean interior. Cardboard sliding drawer in rear. Drawer has one split near the pull-out tab. (the piece of the drawer is present but loose). All parts present. Box/drawer contains: 1) many cardboard poker chips in red, blue and white - each illustrated with Webster drawing and humorous comment; 2) Six blank I.O.U. slips illustrated with Webster drawing and humorous comment; 3) Six post card invitations to poker game illustrated with Webster drawing and humorous comment; 4) Folded informal message to the owner of this book. 8vo. 127 pages illustrated - 'Fifty Portraits by H.T. Filled with information such as odds against particular hands and suggested lies to tell wives to avoid the doghouse from too much card playing. The book encourages the reader to put a game together and was issued with a drawer at its rear containing cardboard chips, postcard invitations and IOU slips. Condition: Very good minus: light dampstain on front cover that is on every page near the gutter, bottom portion of drawer perished, drawer contents incomplete (chips were initially issued in punch card sheets).
