About this Item

Unpaginated with b&w facing-page illustrations by Robert Lawson. By the same same author and illustrator who created Ferdinand the Bull two years earlier. Have you ever felt like you had a hard decision to make? Consider the tale of Wee Gillis of Scotland as he spends half his year in the lowlands and the other half in the highlands. All is well until Wee must decide where he will permanently dwell. Wee is content with spending his time in both places. Choosing for Wee is not easy. His uncles make it a hard task for him to decide when they beg, plead, and yell like children. Wee loves both places and doesn't want to pick one over the other. Which one does he choose? 1939 Caldecott Medal. The Thistle edition of Wee Gillis is limited to 525 copies, and is Signed by both Leaf and Lawson on a colophon page.
