About this title

This collection of Sesqua Valley stories contains new material as well as older work revised or completely rewritten especially for this edition. Sesqua Valley, modeled on North Bend and the Snoqualmie Valley in the Pacific Northwest, is home to Wilum Pugmire's created world of supernatural forces and eldritch beings, attracting mere mortals who feel its call. While inspired by the work of H.P. Lovecraft, Pugmire uses Lovecraftian elements for his own ends, expressing a unique creative and poetic vision that sings of the liberating, if at times terrifying, power of transformation that lies within all of us.

About the Author:

Wilum Hopfrog Pugmire has been writing tales of the Cthulhu Mythos since 1973, with stories published in such magazines as Space &Time, Deathrealm, and Weird Tales. He began to sell professionally in 1985 and has had work in such anthologies as The Children of Cthulhu, Cutting Edge and Love in Vein. His personal favorite of his tales, "Inhabitants of Wraithwood," will be published this year in S. T. Joshi's Lovecraftian anthology, Black Wings. In 2010, the prestigious Centipede Press will publish an illustrated hardcover omnibus of Pugmire's collected fiction, edited and introduced by S. T. Joshi. He is currently writing a book with Maryanne K. Snyder and working as mentor for the exciting new writer, Victor Lowney.
