Very tiny, faint smudges on front board. A clean, fine copy. John S. Thompson (1872-1955) was the inventor of the Thompson Typecaster. In this book, Thompson delves into the specifics of typecasting, typefaces, and typography and makes the central argument that Gutenberg's primary invention was not a mold for casting single characters but a punch-holder and line-casting mold that produced a line of type at a time.
