About this Item

First edition (stated). Hardcover in bright yellow cloth. 150 pp. Illustrations by Eleanor J. Drown. Inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper: "To my dear friend ____/ who will discover real 'gold' in these pages/ Affectionately yours/ Lillian Rosa Kraemer/ May 18, 1955". A rather scarce and certainly sought-after title, a tender and heart-warming children's book about the dream adventures if a little handicapped girl who is confined to a wheelchair. Suddenly a jolly group of "Wallpaper children" come into her life and together, with her wheelchair as an airplane, they travel to faraway places past and present. A tight, bright, fine example in a bright, crisp dust jacket with minor wear at the spine extremities. Laid in is an envelope from the publisher addressed to the inscribee and containing an advertising folder about Kraemer's upcoming book of poetry "Walter at the Zoo". Bookseller Inventory # E13937
