About this Item

This is truely an amazing piece of History. It is inscribed by the author, Dr.Joseph Cline to his cousin, Bob cline. Ultimately passed on by his aunt to James Stone. Both of the Clines were active participants in the "Storm of the Century", the Galveston Hurricane of 1900. Cline warned the people of Gal veston that they needed a levee, that they needed s storm shelter. He even tryed to warn them on the very day. When the storm came, everyone ran to his office at the weather station, but too late. They were all washed out to sea. The storm tide topped the roof of the station. This is a family copy of Cline's autobiography. Spine faded, slightly loose, but otherwise nice. Bookseller Inventory # 8029014
