About this Item

Hardcover. 224 pages. Dimensions: 9.0in. x 6.0in. x 0.6in.Out of the annals of the authors own family history comes this story of the strange death of a popular circuit judge in a mysterieous shooting that remained unsolved for many years. Who shot the Judge remained an unsettled question, despite all efforts to find the answer. This is the account of a hunting accident in the north woods of Michigan and the effects of such unsolved mystery on members of the family and others. The story concludes with a surprise ending and alludes to the question of the degree to which such unhealed grief might affect even succeeding generations. The prompting to write the story was born for the author in an experience of personal healing in a prayer group, from which the author emerged with a compelling sense that this story had to be written. He could never seem to let it go. The judge was the authors own grandfather, whom he, of course, never knew. This item ships from multiple locations. About this title

Synopsis:

Out of the annals of the author's own family history comes this story of the strange death of a popular circuit judge in a mysterieous shooting that remained unsolved for many years. "Who shot the Judge?" remained an unsettled question, despite all efforts to find the answer. The judge was the author's own grandfather, whom he, of course, never knew.

About the Author:

Harry Starbuck is a United Methodist minister with 40 years of service as pastor in local churches. In his retirement he continued to serve, speaking at family camps, leading at retreats and workshops, with varied emphases such as spiritual growth, prayer, world peace, couple communication, and marriage enrichment. For awhile he and his wife, Lollie, used their own home in the mountains of Santa Cruz as a retreat center. In time he discovered Centering Prayer, a modern expression of a centuries old Christing form of silent prayer or contemplation. He says that this has so enriched his own spiritual journey that he wanted to share it with others, and as a trained presenter, has had numerous opportunities to do so. Harry has also has done extensive research in the genealogy of his own family, having published a previous book entitled, "Assembling My Ancestors, the Saga of Two Families." He has two sons, Ed, a minister, and Jeff, a psychotherapist, plus four step children: Bill, Laurel, Marilyn, and Susie. He and his wife Lollie have 13 grandchildren between them, and have recently moved to Watsonville, Ca.
