About this Item

First Impression, and yet another example of the value to be found in the graphically superior designs of most UK editions of American authors' works. Crown 8vo: 144pp. Publisher's vivid green cloth, spine and upper cover lettered in black; green, yellow, and black illustrated dust jacket (unclippcd and unpriced, so one of the "colonial" or "export " copies John Lane issued). Given wartime paper shortages, the jacket was printed on the verso of another book's jacket, in this case, Air Challenge and the Locusts by Hugh Wansey Bayly. Near Fine or better, with spine ends rubbed, top edge dust-soiled, two light spots to upper cover, but text block clean, square and tight. About Fine jacket, bright and unfaded, with trivial rubbing to spine panel ends. A well-preserved copy of the author's third book and second collection of short stories. Polk AB3:1. Note: With few exceptions (always identified), we only stock books in exceptional condition, with dust jackets carefully preserved in archival, removable polypropylene sleeves. All orders are packaged with care and posted promptly. Satisfaction guaranteed. Bookseller Inventory # BB0533
