Original blue board with tan cloth spine with brown paper and black lettering on spine. 6 1/2 X 9 1/4 inches. 153 pages. Deckled edges. Copy has been signed by both author and illustrator. From the colophon, "of this first edition published by the Colt Press in October, 1941, three hundred copies have been hand colored by the illustrator and signed by both him and the author." Lewis (1899-1998) was an American novelist and poet. Angelo (1897-1989) was an Italian-American printmaker, illustrator and author. Copy is slightly sunned on the top edges of both covers.
