About the Author:

Doug Lindstrand has been photographing and sketching North America's animals for the past 35 years. After military service and college, he was lured North by Alaska's fabled frontier and abundant wildlife. Since arriving, he has supported himself as a free-lance artist/photographer; usually traveling during the warmer months and then using the acquired photographs, notes and sketches to do his wintertime drawing and painting. Besides illustrating numerous other books, Doug has authored seven books: Doug Lindstrand's Alaska Sketchbook, Drawing Big Game, Drawing Mammals, Drawing America's Wildlife, Deer: The Ultimate Artists' Reference, Bear: The Ultimate Artists' Reference, and Wild Alaska.
