Book Description Macmillan Company, New York, 1936. Hard Cover. Condition: Very Good -. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair to Poor. First American Edition. Twelve short stories from this British master of psychological horror stories, including one with Edgar Allan Poe coming back as a ghost, and another described as "an excursion into the fantastic world of delirium." 321 pages, wheat-colored cloth (looks like silk) boards, cornflower blue print on front and spine, top edge stained black; boards are clean and straight but bottom 3/4th of spine is sun faded because the dust jacket is missing that part of the spine; endpapers are darkened, text is just starting to age-darken but is clean and unmarked, in excellent condition otherwise. Dust jacket is blue and black with light blue print on the front; DJ is pretty sad--most of the bottom end of the spine is torn off, and a there's a tear going half-way across the front; smaller chips and tears along the outer edges. The good news is that the DJ is repaired with thick transparent tape so that it holds together very nicely, and it's still protecting the book. Seller Inventory # F06664
