About the Authors
Mark Ciampa is Assistant Professor of Computer Information Systems at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Previously, he served as Associate Professor and Director of Academic Computing for 20 years at Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, Tennessee. Dr. Ciampa has worked in the IT industry as a computer consultant for the U.S. Postal Service, the Tennessee Municipal Technical Advisory Service, and the University of Tennessee. He is also the author of many Cengage/Course Technology books, including Security+ Guide to Network Security Fundamentals; CWNA Guide to Wireless LANs, 3e; CWSP Guide to Wireless Security; Guide to Wireless Communications; and Networking BASICS. He holds a PhD in digital communication systems from Indiana State University.
Jorge L. Olenewa has been an instructor at George Brown College for eleven years, where he helped create and implement two Wireless Networking Programs.This academic experience and more than four decades working in the computer industry formed the foundation of his book, Wireless# Guide to Wireless Communications, 2nd Edition, as well as its Lab Manual. A keynote speaker on wireless technologies and co-chair at WECON, a major international Wireless and Embedded Systems conference in India, Mr. Olenewa has researched wireless applications in vehicle entertainment systems, Real-Time Location Systems, and two Mobile Learning research projects. He is a Cisco Certified Academy Instructor and Cisco Certified Network Associate, and holds a B.Sc. in Electronic Information Systems from B.L.A.I. in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
