Spinecaps gently folded under with occasional tiny tears and creasing. Only mildly age-tanned. Black lettering framed in red on tan 2.5 x 1" spine labels affixed to dark olive-green, cloth-covered spines. Grey and white mottled-pattern boards. Portrait of selected author to frontis of each volume. Frontis illustrations by John Cecil Clay, Rudolph E. Leppert, and George Brehm. Clean and solid. Volumes are continuously numbered to 2,042 pp with complete index arranged alphabetically by authors. In this complete 10 Volume set are selections from the pen of "this company of fun-makers" as well as many more, including a number by clever women humorists.
