About this title

Synopsis:

Thirteen top level English and Western horsewomen tell the stories and share photographs of how they climbed to prominence as professionals in the equestrian world. Despite setbacks and obstacles such as Sally Swift's scoliosis or Kathy Kusner's difficulties getting a jockey's license as the 1st female jockey, they used their own perseverance and passion for horsemanship to follow their own hearts. The women talk not only about the joys and opportunities, but the disappointments and frustrations going on in their lives within and outside of the horse world.

About the Author:

Karma Kitaj, PhD, came to love horses as a middle-aged adult, after she and her husband moved to the country. Once she bought her own horse at age 50, she never stopped taking lessons and learning. This book comes from her love of horses and her facility for interviewing and gaining people's trust, hones from decades of being a psychotherapist and life coach working with people about becoming their "personal best." She is a blogger, author of the "Women Who Could... and Did" series, and a motivational speaker.
