About this Item

First Edition. Specially printed for distribution to members of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences in consideration for nomination of the Best Screenplay. 122 page shooting script for the film, Wonder Boys, written by Steve Kloves, based on the novel by Michael Chabon, directed by Curtis Hanson, starring Michael Douglas, Tobey Maguire, Frances McDormand, Robert Downey Jr., Katie Holmes, and Rip Torn. Bradbound in printed studio wrappers. Fine copy. The film tells the story of a college professor/writer (Douglas) who is in the grips of a long-term writer's block, is having an affair with the collegeÕs chancellor (McDormand) who announces she is pregnant with his child, is struggling to maintain his status as a writer of note while a promising student (Maguire) begins to outshine him, which along with a quirky assortment of other characters and bizarre plot twists, make for an endearing, smart, and funny film.
