Gilt-stamped green cloth; folio; 209pp; illustrated with b/w photos; color photographic dust jacket. The history of the Woodmont Rod and Gun Club located in Hancock, Maryland. The author tells of the many celebrities who have visited the club, including many U.S. presidents plus other Washington luminaries. Breeding wild turkeys was a specialty of the club and offered exciting sport thereafter. Says Archibald Rutledge, "A fascinating and valuable contribution to the history of American wildlife, this is the best book of its kind ever written." This copy is in very good condition with a small abrasion (erasure?) to top corner of front free endpaper.
