First ediion. Square octavo in blue cloth stamped in gilt, beveled edges. 32 pps. with four color litho plates by White. An arrangement for children taken from the author's 1834 work "Children of The Rhine". A retelling of the tale of Reynard The Fox wherein a friendly dog brings the fox into the fold of animals who live harmoniously together. Very good, gilt still clear, cloth a bit dusty with some spine fade and two small spots of loss to the rear gutter. Scattered foxing throughout. Frontis tissue guard lacking.
