About this title

Synopsis:

Poetry is an expression of the experiences in our lives. It tells stories of our hopes and dreams, our failures and our fears. Words of Times Past, is a compilation of some of my favorite writings chosen from my previously published works: Poetry To Stir The Soul, Whispers Of Faith and Light from Above.

The spectrum of stories in these poems, examines a variety of experiences that may be relevant for each of us; from our trials and disappointments to love and from the right now to eternity.

About the Author:

Marilyn Donahue was born in Houston, Texas, the third eldest of seven children. She started acting in plays in the fifth grade and her love of poetry and literature seriously began in middle school English class. The exposure of speaking in front of an audience, lead to becoming President of the Speech & Drama clubs in high school. It also lead to a major of Radio & Television Communications at the University of Houston. Some of her writings have been published in several national anthologies and Marilyn is the author of three other volumes of inspirational poetry: Poetry to Stir the Soul, Whispers of Faith and Light from Above. One of her poems, "I Want." from her book, Poetry to Stir the Soul, was translated into Braille for a school for the blind in Ghana, Africa.
