Dwight James Baum (1886-1939) was an American architect primarily active in New York and Florida. Baum's work consisted primarily of residential and civic buildings. A number of Baum's houses were built in the Riverdale area in the Bronx in the Tudor and Greek Revival styles. While many of his later Florida buildings reflected the Mediterranean Revival Style, as seen in his work at Temple Terrace and around Sarasota, Florida and especially Ringling's Ca' d'Zan mansion. Rebound in red cloth boards with gilt lettering on the spine. Photo-illustrated frontispiece. The book documents the Georgian, Colonial and English style residential architectural work of Dwight James Baum, through 191 plates of b/w photographic reproductions of interiors and exteriors. Each of the 65 homes included in the book feature some detailed floor plans and/or measured drawings as well. Also included in the publication are some of Baum's garden and landscape designs at the end of the book. Binding with minor rubbing to extremities, minor scratching and smudging to covers. Interior with previous owner's name in pen at the top right corner of the front free endpaper. Light foxing throughout, with images mostly unaffected.
