With xxvi and 354 numbered pages, plus several unnumbered pages, and with numerous full-page color plates of 145 featured items, and also B&W illustrations, all on heavy coated stock. Unbumped spine head and tail, with sharp corners. An immensely clean copy, and quite tight. No remainder marks. Almost certainly unread. Just a touch of shelf life. The lovely full-pictorial DJ is unclipped. A Near Fine copy in a Near Fine DJ. Houghton, built as the country residence of Sir Robert Walpole, is one of the first 18th century English country homes for which there are numerous descriptions, including details about the decor, furniture and appurtenances.
