Book Description 1929-1933., 1929. Seven volumes, 8vo., original full tan niger morocco, lettered in gilt on spines lettered and ruled in gilt, t.e.g, others uncut. New York, Random House, The Nonesuch Press, Spines somewhat darkened, with some of the staining that is characteristic to this edition, probably due to a glue reaction in the binding, and one or two minor scrapes to the binding. Small inoffensive heraldic bookplate. T. E. Lawrence greatly admired the edition and in a letter to David Garnett wrote: ?There you have created a most marvelous pleasure. It satisfies. It is final, like the Kelmscott Chaucer or the Ashendene Virgil. And it is a book which charms one to read slowly, an art which is almost gone from us in these times. Every word which Shakespeare uses stands out glowing. A really great edition.?. Seller Inventory # 125269
