About this Item

Hardcover, no dust jacket; red boards with black lettering. The spine ends and corners are slightly bumped. The inside cover has a previous owner's signature in black ink. There is also staining from glue residue on the inside cover. The hinges and binding are firm and the 310 pages are clean and unmarked. Also there are several black and white drawings to complement the stories. There are two parts to the book with a total of 30 essays. With wit, charm and clever writing, Thurber delights his readers with his perspective of life, such as the battle of the sexes, his travels abroad, and encounters with the telephone company and DMV, plus many more observations. A very nice copy by a popular humorist. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Bookseller Inventory # 001039
