Bleak but beautiful, "World War Robot" depicts the epic battle on Mars where human soldiers and their robots fight against an invading, organized force. Artist and illustrator, Ashley Wood and writer T P Louise, use a combination of largely scaled reproduced art and minimal, but effective text - often in the forms of letters- to complete this dystopic but engrossing graphic novel. Weary, future soldiers wearing uniforms and gasmasks like their WWI counterparts fight alongside their rusty, hulking compatriot robots in what seems to be a futile attempt to save humanity.
