Edges are lightly soiled and lightly tanned else very good in dustjacket with some light soiling and some light wear to the extremities else very good. This copy has been heavily annotated throughout the text in black, red and blue pencil. Additionally, a typed, folded key is affixed to the front pastedown indicating information sources to the information utilized in the text. The sheet is titled a "comparison between text of this book & complete twelve articles of 1915". We believe that this was possibly a copy owned by author John R. McMahon. From the front flap "John R(obert) McMahon was born in British India in 1875, the son of an American missionary. He lived there for the first nine years of his life. At eighteen he he began a successful newspaper career by becoming a reporter on 'The New York Press'. Later he became asscociated with a number of magazines, among them 'The Country Gentleman' and 'Popular Science Monthly'. In 1919 he undertook for the former magazine a post-war survey of Europe. Mr. McMahon's interest in the mechanical arts and in everything lp assemble and launch a glider which was tried out on pertaining to flight gave him a recent opportunity to heCape Cod. Of his half-dozen books he considers this one - 'the first adult book in any language dealing exclusively with the Wrights and the airplane'".
