Size: 4to. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Binding is tight, covers and spine fully intact. Teal gilt stamped cloth over boards, published on the occasion of the exhibition at the Tate Gallery, Grand Palais Paris, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art New York in 1990, 291 pages, Catalog, Abbreviations, Catalog of Engraved Works, Abbreviations, Chronology, Lenders, Index of Works, includes chapters by David Fraser, Tim Clayton, Rica Jones, and Paul Mitchell, 170 color plates, as well as black-and-white illustrations. Head of spine and top corners bumped (this book was New in shrinkwrap, but has been listed as Near Fine due to these small flaws). In a color illustrated dust jacket that is likewise bumped at head of spine and top corners, also bumped at bottom of spine and bottom corners. "Wright is one of the most original and wide-ranging British artists. His abiding interest was in effects of light. He painted unconventional landscapes and a wide range of literary subjects. His portraits, his chief source of income, including arresting images of men in the forefront of the Industrial Revolution, such as Arkwright, Strutt and Oldknow."
