About this Item

8vo. Black cloth spine with gilt lettering and lavender paper over boards, dust jacket. viii, 166pp. Very good/good plus. Jacket somewhat age toned and edgeworn, with spine lightly sunned. First edition of this short story and verse collection, limited to 1500 numbered copies (this #649) signed boldly by Hume. Tight and attractive. American novelist, screenwriter and prolific scribbler Hume (1900-66) is perhaps best remembered for the cult sci-fi film classic "Forbidden Planet" (1956) as well as "Tarzan the Ape Man" (1932), "Tarzan Escapes" (1936) and "The Great Gatsby" (1949), among others.
