Written by Salomon Lastik (1907-1977) a member of the Union of Jewish Writers and Journalists in Poland in the pre-war period; he survived in Kazakhstan, and throughout the post war period in Poland worked as a journalist focusing on social issues and education, and as a literary critic of Jewish history and culture. He was involved with the State Jewish Theater in Warsaw, translated Yiddish poetry into Polish, and compiled a pedagogical handbook for teachers of Yiddish. Subjects: Haskalah. Pologne. Haskala.
