About this Item

8vo. (1901). Blue cloth boards pictorially stamped in orange and yellow with Zauberlinda and her cat on the front cover and a fairy on the back cover. An obvious imitation of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, which also debuted in 1901, both in content and format. A children's fantasy similar to Baum's "Wonderful Wizard of Oz." The use of the letter "Z" as a symbol, "Zauberlinda" like "Glinda", a little farm girl and her cat. Illustrated throughout in color on every page, in alternating colors. Very much in style to Denslow. Book has over all wear, and interior soiling. Tight binding, but some netting exposed. 256 pages with decorated endpapers. Illustrated by Mabel Tibbetts. A presentable copy of a scarce title. Bookseller Inventory # 815015
