Book Description Robert Smith Printing Co., Chicago & Lansing, 1901. Hard Cover. Book Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. Mabel Tibbitts (illustrator). First Edition.. Although considered to be a rather blatant "theft" from the Oz books, this copycat has a delightful charm of its own, with many great illustrations by Mabel Tibbitts throughout. Here is a Very Good (Minus) copy of the First Edition, bound in blue cloth with pictorial representations in red and yellow. Clean text; 256 pages lacking typical juvenalia. There is a contemporary (either 1901 0r 1902) gift inscription on the FFEP. The condition is definitely used, but not abused: the colors are a bit dulled, the spine has faded, there is rubbing to the margins, and the front hinge has cracked. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
