May have been originally published in 1959 in Beijing by the People's Fine Arts Publishing House. Printed and bound in China. Olive-drab cloth hardboard binding, with crisp blind-stamped lettering to the front board and with crisp gilt-stamped lettering to the spine. Unbumped spine head and tail, with sharp corners. Large folio, 15 x 13 inches. Text block firmly bound in. Attractive patterned pastedowns and FEPs. With 100 numbered pages of color plates featuring 19 paintings, including a large fold-out plate on p. 71, and with 18 numbered pages of text commentary about the plates. An exceptionally clean volume, inside and out, and quite tight. Very gently read. With a pictorial dust jacket, the jacket bumped at the spine tail and quite rubbed along all edges. In a light-duty cardboard pictorial slipcase, the slipcase with moderate scuffing and marks on the reverse side. A Near Fine volume in a Very Good Minus dust jacket in a Very Good slipcase.
