Although Webster's name nowhere appears in this pamphlet, which is signed (p. 6) by Jonathan Ingersoll and S. Sam Smith, the compiler (i.e. Skeel) believes that Webster wrote it. The New York Historical Society copy has a manuscript note, 'Noah Webster Esq. is the reputed author of this pamphlet'."
