Artists and Engravers: Made by Huet Fils after Jean-Baptiste Huet. Nicolas Huet the Younger (1770-1830), aka Nicolas Huet II / le Jeune / fils, was a French natural history illustrator, son of Jean-Baptiste Huet. Jean-Baptiste Huet (Paris 1745-1811) was a French painter, engraver and designer associated with pastoral and genre scenes of animals in the Rococo manner. He was influenced by Francois Boucher. Huet was born into a family of artists - his uncle was Christophe Huet, his father Nicolas Huet - and apprenticed to Charles Dagomer. In 1764 Huet entered the studio of Jean-Baptiste le Prince, where he further developed his printmaking skills. Condition: Very good, given age. Margins a little soiled.
