Alphonse Marie Louis de Prat de Lamartine, Knight of Pratz (1790-1869), was a French writer, poet and politician who was instrumental in the foundation of the Second Republic and the continuation of the Tricouleur as the flag of France. Source unknown, to be determined. Ref: De Vinck 13760. Engraving on Wove, on chine-collee paper. Made by 'Gustave Levy' after 'Adam Salomon'. Gustave Levy (1819-1894) Antony Samuel Adam Salomon (1818-1881) worked as as sculptor and photographer. Good, given age. Ample margins. Some small stains in margin.
