Antique print, titled: 'Jerusalem nieuwelyks uyt de Schrift en Josephus afgebeeld [�].' - This print shows Jerusalem with the Acra and Mount of Olives indicated, as well as Golgotha. From Flavius Josephus' "Alle de Werken [�] De Histori van den Oorlog der Jooden tegen de Romeynen [�] daarby gevoegd de Vyf Boeken van Egesippus" (Amsterdam: Marten Schagen, 1732). Engraving on hand laid paper. Made by 'Caspar Luyken' after 'Johannes Coccejus'. Casper Luyken (1672-1708). Johannes Coccejus (born Johannes Coch, 1603-1669) was a theologian and philologist. Very good, given age. Original middle fold, as issued. Small tear in middle fold in lower margin, consolidated with acid free tape. Some small stains in margin from handling. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. The overall size is ca. 47.5 x 40.7 cm. The image size is ca. 39.2 x 31.8 cm.
