Antique print, titled: 'La Croupe au Mur', ('Haunches out'). Etching/engraving on hand laid (verge) paper, with watermark. Watermark not visible on every sheet. Description: This print originates from the 8vo (octavo) edition of Fancois Robichon de Guerniere's 'Ecole de Cavalerie contenant La Connoissance, l'Instruction, et la Conservation du Cheval'. This edition was published in 1769 in Paris. We also stock plates from the earlier (1733) quarto edition of the same work.Artists and Engravers: Engraved by N. Dupuis after C. Parrocel. Nicolas Gabriel Dupuis (1695-1771) was a French engravger and the brother of Charles Dupuis. Notable works are his 'Virgin and Child' after Carracci and 'Adoration of the Kings' after Veronese. Charles Parrocel (1688-1752) was a French painter and engraver, specialised in battle and hunting scenes. Condition: Very good, given age. A stain in the left margin, right edge uneven from binding.
