Sancho Panza, also kneeling, at the right, has deceived his master into thinking the peasant girl is Dulcinea. Etching/engraving on a verge type handlaid paper. Description: A proof print, before lettering, of the print from a series of 25 prints illustrating Don Quijote. Published in 1724 by: Surugue.Artists and Engravers: Engraved by Haussard after Coypel. Jean Baptiste Haussard (Dennevoux 1680-1749) was a French engraver/printmaker. Antoine Coypel (1661-1722) was a history painter, the more famous son of the French painter Noel Coypel. Condition: Excellent given age. Margins minimally thumbed and a little soiled. A small tear in the left margin (backed with acid-free archival tape).
