Antique print, titled: 'S. Gregorius'. A full-length portrait of Saint Gregory of Utrecht (700-770's) was born in Trier. He was a follower of Saint Willibrord, the first bishop of Utrecht. Original etching/engraving on e verge type handlaid paper. Description: This print originates from a series of twelve similar prints, depicting the Archbishops and Bishops of Utrecht, published ca. 1630.Artists and Engravers: Engraved by Fred. Bloemaert after Abrahamus Bloemaert. Frederik Bloemaert (1614-1690) was a Dutch printmaker and draughtsman. He was the son of Abraham Bloemaert. Condition: Original folds, a little tear in left margin not affecting image, restaured with acid free tape, a few creases in left margin and left side below Storage location: B58-19 The overall size is ca. 13 x 18.9 inch. The image size is ca. 11.8 x 18.5 inch. The overall size is ca. 33 x 48 cm. The image size is ca. 30 x 47 cm.
