Plate 26: 'Lantmeetkunde.' (Land surveying). This plate deals with the science of surveying. Copperplate engraving on verge type hand laid paper with watermark, which is not present in all sheets. Description: This original old antique print / plate originates from: 'Huishoudelyk Woordboek [.]' by M. Noel Chomel, published in Leyden and Amsterdam by S. Luchtmans & H. Uytwerf in 1743. This is a first Dutch edition. The work also appeared in French in 1709, 1718 and 1767 and was even reworked in Japanese. This work covers all aspects of managing a country estate.Artists and Engravers: The author of this work is Noel Chomel (1633-1712) is a famous French agriculturist and encyclopedia maker, much insprired by the Enlightment period in history. In this Dutch edition the plates are engraved by Frans de Bakker (active from 1736�1765). Condition: Excellent. General age related toning and occasional light staining from handling as visible on image. Original fold lines as issued. Please study scan carefully.
