Description: This scarse copperplate engraved print originates from: 'Aldernouwkeurigste Verhandelinge der geschiedenissen van het Oud Testament .', published in Antwerp by Cornelis Martinus Spanoghe in 1784 or the companion to this work is 'Aldernouwkeurigste Verhandelinge der geschiedenissen van het Nieuw Testament .', published in Antwerp by Cornelis Martinus Spanoghe in 1783. This work contains many engravings and suites of engravings that date back to the sixteenth century, reprinted in 1783-84.Artists and Engravers: The publisher Cornelis Martinus Spanoghe (1758-1829), was a Flemish (Belgium) publisher, printer, poet and political writer born in Doel. Plates in this series are engraved by Jan Wierix (Flemish 1549-c.1618) after Crispin de Passe (Dutch c.1565-1637) and others. This plate has no reference to the exact engraver. Condition: Excellent. General age related toning and light staining from handling. Please study the scan carefully as this shows the condition well. Pin prick holes from binding in the right margin.
