Beautiful design by Loda Bleach. The lady became better known as Lodalientje. Little information known about designer. At the top of the paper the name of J. Vlieger is written in pencil with S II. Unfortunately, the work suffers from damage by bugs in the letter O of Loda and above and in the black of the letter L. This work is part of our national heritage. According to the website memory of the Netherlands, the designer should be Wim Engels, but I can't find anything more about that. The memory of the Netherlands contains a poster from 1956 with a modified design of this advertisement, so the design could be older than the 1950s. In 1997 Loda was taken over by the British detergent company McBride and it was renamed McBride/Grada BV. At that time, a total of about 160 people worked in the Netherlands. The intention was to achieve an increase in scale with a view to the developing European market. In 2004, McBride announced that production was being transferred to Ieper - Belgium.
